Today’s my birthday and I never work on my birthday. So I’m watching Dr. Phil. And Dr. Phil says you have to be very specific when making resolutions; that’s the only way to keep them.
So, let’s really do my new year’s resoultions.
- Lose weight – I want to lose 20lbs by June 5. That’s less than 1 pound a week for six months.
- Save money – I will actively chose 1 thing to not buy during the day (this can be anything from a cup of coffee to a pair of shoes, basically anything that I do not need to live) and then put that money aside in my savings account. That money will be used for taxes and a vacation.
- Sex/Love – To find intimacy and closeness with a man that I find sexually attractive.
- Finish a yard project – I will make the small section of the yard fertile enough and healthy enough to plant flowers. I will read up on that to figure out what I have to do and the best flowers to plant.
I think this all has to do with growing up. I’ve already started to dress like an adult most days. I wear nice clothes and have manners. I’m networking in my job – a little, but still – I think I’m an adult. I also really believe that I’ll keep these resolutions this year. I’ve never had that thought before. So maybe it really means that I’ll do it this year.
I think I’ll enforce the “Fake it Til I Make it” Rule. I’ll just pretend that I already do that until I actually do that without having to fake it.
